Work with Student Affairs Marketing and Communications

Student Affairs Marketing and Communications (SAMC) supports marketing, communications and web needs across the Division of Student Affairs.

Quick Guide

To get started, choose the option above that best fits your need. If you are uncertain, review the usage information for each individual form below before making your selection.

Individual Form Usage Information

Request a Project

Use the "Request a Project" form when you need SAMC to lead or collaborate on a marketing or communications project.

Examples:

  • New initiatives, programs or large-scale campaigns that need marketing support
  • Branding support (ex. wordmarks, programmatic brands, graphic elements, campaign branding)
  • Design strategy and development for large or complex projects, program or events
  • Building or center signage
  • Major website changes, such as a website redesign or a new website
  • Photo or video projects or support for large/signature events
  • Critical or required mass communications to students. This does not include routine emails or newsletters that units send to students.

Submit your request at least 4 weeks in advance when possible.

If you need something sooner, still submit a request. Select the earliest available date in the form, and use the question “What would you like SAMC’s help with?” to share your actual deadline. Expedited requests are not guaranteed but will be reviewed based on capacity.

Each project will be assigned to the SAMC team member(s) with expertise in the specific aspect of your project (e.g., social media, web content, graphic design, video production) and will reach out to the person who submitted the project request with next steps.

Request a Web Update

Use the "Request a Web Update" form for simple updates or issues related to your website. Full redesigns or major changes should be submitted through the “Request a Project” form.

Examples:

  • Editing or updating content
  • SiteFarm access or permissions
  • Troubleshooting site issues

Request Office Hours

Use the "Request Office Hours" form if you need guidance, consultation or help working through an idea.

Examples:

  • Reviewing a draft or concept
  • Planning a campaign or outreach strategy
  • Getting help with design, web or social media strategies

Office hours are collaborative working sessions, not project execution.

Share News

Use the "Share News" form to submit content you would like to be considered for promotion on the SAMC-managed channels. SAMC channels include the UC Davis Life (for students) and SA Connect (for SA staff) newsletters, UC Davis Life Instagram and Facebook and the Updater tile on MyUCDavis.

Examples:

  • Events, announcements or updates
  • Staff achievements/awards
  • Staff-facing resources
  • Student-facing resources

Submission does not guarantee promotion. Content is selected based on relevance, available space and appropriateness for each channel. Please note that we will not be able to share any promotional assets that do not meet UC Davis brand standards and digital accessibility requirements.

Request LCD Advertising

Use the "Request LCD Advertising" form to promote an event or program on Student Affairs LCD screens in the Memorial Union, Student Community Center and select Housing and Dining locations.

  • Available to campus departments and registered student organizations
  • Space is limited and scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Submit at least 2 weeks in advance
